We are looking for a speech pathologist committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. 

  • Join a supportive and collaborative Speech Pathology team providing high quality services to patients admitted to Bankstown Hospital. 
  • Work in a dynamic team over the winter period offering exposure to a wide range of clinical areas including weekend cover 
  • Be part of a team committed to delivering safe, patient centred, and evidence based care. 
  • Benefit from strong professional support, including regular supervision, mentoring, and access to ongoing professional development opportunities. 
  • Gain hands on experience with VFSS (Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies), FEES (Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing), and outpatient services.
  • Develop and strengthen skills in dysphagia management and communication assessment/intervention across diverse caseloads.

  • Demonstrates strong clinical skills in speech pathology, with interest or experience in dysphagia and communication management. 
  • Shows willingness to work across rotational caseloads, including weekend cover adapting to different clinical areas with confidence and curiosity. 
  • Shows initiative, accountability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, safe healthcare. 
  • Has developing or established skills in VFSS and FEES, or a strong desire to learn and grow in these areas.  
  • Values supervision, feedback, and ongoing professional development, actively seeking opportunities to improve practice. 
 

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • Demonstrated post graduate clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment and management in an adult caseloads.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
  • Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
