About the role:

This role will see you enjoy a varied caseload across paediatric and adult outpatients, as well as adult inpatients, allowing you to develop strong generalist Speech Pathology skills. The position is open to Level 1–3 Speech Pathologists, with support provided through close collaboration with another motivated Speech Pathologist within the service.

As a skilled and dedicated Speech Pathologist, you’ll deliver comprehensive speech pathology services across a diverse client group, gaining valuable clinical experience in a supportive rural setting.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Assessing, diagnosing and managing communication and swallowing disorders in paediatric and adult clients
  • Delivering individual and group therapy programs tailored to patient needs
  • Providing education and guidance to patients, carers and families to support long-term outcomes
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
  • Contributing to inpatient assessment and therapy for hospital admissions
  • Participating in health promotion initiatives, service development and quality improvement activities
  • Supporting student placements and assisting with supervision of less experienced staff (depending on experience level)
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and clinical supervision to maintain evidence-based practice

Requirements:
 

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
