What you'll be doing
To provide a Social Work service to Aboriginal families and carers within the New Directions Program at designated sites across the Eurobodalla area in accordance with the contract parameters of the New Directions Mother and Babies funding agreement. 



Selection Criteria

  1. Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the complexities faced by Aboriginal families and communities reflecting the cultural considerations and flexibility of service delivery necessary to provide culturally appropriate services.
  3. Demonstrated advanced practice knowledge in providing services to Aboriginal families in a community setting with the ability to provide culturally safe team based services in a family model of care.
  4. Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Extensive specialist social work skills and knowledge in related area or broad generalist knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work / caseload.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence based practice.
  8. Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
