An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Gynaecologist to join the multidisciplinary team at South East Regional Hospital in the Bega Valley, part of the Southern NSW - Coastal Network.
Where you'll be working
South East Regional Hospital (SERH), which opened in 2016, is one of the two main modern hospitals in Southern NSWLHD and is located in the Yuin Nation near the beautiful south coast of NSW. Clients and patients can be seen across a number of settings, including community health centres, in hospital or their homes as required. Aboriginal health services are available throughout the service. Our team of friendly, highly trained health professionals provide excellent services for residents and visitors. SERH and Pambula District Hospital are part of the Coastal Network within the Southern NSW Local Health District.
There is great local demand for Gynaecology services. SERH undertakes general gynaecology and this role includes access to regular operating lists and public clinics and the opportunity to bring a special gynaecology interest/subspecialty to the area.
You will work with a team of committed clinic nurses, anaesthetists and postoperative surgical staff
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Process
4 gynaecology clinics (colposcopy clinic) and one all day elective operating list per month
Gynaecology
Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system, including the initial evaluation and diagnosis of infertility in couples.
Includes:
laparoscopic surgery to skill level 3 as defined in RANZCOG College Statement C-Trg 2
simple hysteroscopic procedures
point of care ultrasound
and if capable:
Gynaecology - advanced endoscopic procedures – Level 4 (includes but not limited to, operative procedures such as salpingo-oophorectomy with complexity, adhesiolysis, hysteroscopic submucosal fibroid (type 0-1), hysteroscopic endometrial ablation; excision of ASRM stage 3 endometriosis
Selection Criteria:
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Gynaecologist.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in Gynaecology.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
