Northern Beaches Mental Health Service

What you'll be doing
The Service Director, Northern Beaches Mental Health Service (NBMHS) reports to the Director, MHDA and has the delegated authority for the provision of Mental Health Services to the Northern Beaches Local Government Area (>300,000 people). 

This position is responsible for the corporate, operational, clinical, and financial management of the NBMHS and delegated positions/teams/ portfolios/roles to a high standard and in consultation with the Director MHDA for the planning and development of the MHS within this positions remit.   

The Service Director is responsible for the delivery of high performing, appropriate, safe, consumer centred, efficient services ensuring there is a culture of continuous improvement, risk management and evidenced based practice. 
The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all professional and organisational obligations, relevant legislation, local/state policies and procedures and notifications in accordance with other legal and regulatory requirements. 

As a leader you are expected to support the organisation achieve the aims of the safety management systems, to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture in the workplace and to consult with workers and others when making decisions that may impact upon the health, safety and welfare of those in the workplace.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: 

  1. Significant clinical experience and competency, and demonstrated ability working at a senior management level, within a recognised health setting and/or post-graduate qualifications in management or working towards same.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and management in a complex, multi-disciplinary, changing and evolving mental healthcare service provision environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience in successful and complex project/change management from inception through to evaluation and completion, including human resource, financial and risk management, partnering and the ability to develop, implement and evaluate associated evidence-based policies and procedures.
