About The Opportunity 
District Workforce Support Unit is seeking an adaptable, flexible and independent Senior HR Consultant to join the HR Team.  The team currently support a diverse range of district wide portfolios with some services undergoing significant changes, so you will have experience in working with multiple services and be adept in managing change. You will be a strong negotiator and communication will be key in your role. You will be able to manage competing priorities as well as influence others around you to find solutions. You will be working in a highly skilled and dynamic team who strive for excellence in their work. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow in the role and develop your knowledge in the health sector.

What You'll Be Doing
The Senior Workforce Consultant works in partnership with key designated portfolios to provide expert strategic and tactical human resources consultancy and support, and to assist teams to deliver business priorities that align with corporate and human resources strategy and innovation.

The role coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of HR solutions, aligned with business objectives, which addresses key workforce challenges for the medium and long-term. The role promotes best-practice HR and people management to achieve organisational success and maximise the effectiveness of the organisation's workforce.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, Organisational Psychology or associated field or relevant extensive work experience.
  2. Proven ability to apply knowledge of employment legislation, awards and agreements, policies and best practice to provide sound advice, identify and resolve complex workforce issues while maintaining privacy and confidentiality principles. 
  3. Proven capacity to build and maintain credible relationships at senior levels and with other key stakeholder, including highly developed interpersonal communication, business acumen, consulting and negotiation and influencing skills to achieve organisational outcomes.
  4. Demonstrated experience in working within a business partnering environment with broad knowledge and experience of contemporary and generalists human resource practices, including managing misconduct, underperformance, change management, employee engagement and recruitment.
  5. Ability to work independently with limited direction as to work priorities with demonstrated experience managing and meeting deadlines whilst maintaining meticulous attention to detail and meet predetermined targets and deadlines, whilst being flexible and able to adapt work practices to suit circumstances.
  6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
