Senior Speech Pathologist - Brain Injury Rehabilitation

About the role:

SWBIRS is a specialist rehabilitation service supportingpeople withacquiredbrain injuries across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. Our services include allied health assessments, therapy, education, andrehabilitationcoordination. We offer both community outreach and centre-based programs.  Our multidisciplinary allied health team works in close partnership with Rehabilitation Physicians to deliver high-quality rehabilitation and rehabilitation coordination.

As a Speech Pathologist with Murrumbidgee Local Health District, you will deliver assessment, intervention and rehabilitation coordination for adults and children  across our District. In this role you will focus on delivering expert assessment and intervention for clients with cognitive and communication disorders. You’ll work across a variety of settings, including:

  • Onsite clinics

  • Outreach visits to rural communities

  • Telehealth appointments

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will take on rehabilitation coordination for a designated caseload of clients. This involves working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and monitor individualized rehabilitation plans—ensuring seamless, client-centered care across all stages of recovery.

Remuneration:  $116,892.00 - $120,680.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Hold a recognised degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia

  2. Effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills

  3. Ability to work in sites across the Local Health District as required or directed with a valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
