Senior Social Worker Northern Beaches Child and Youth Mental Health
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and enthusiastic Senior Mental Health Social Worker to join the multi-disciplinary team of the Northern Beaches Child and Youth Mental Health Service (NB CYMHS). NB CYMHS is a multi-disciplinary community mental health service providing specialist assessment and intervention to children and young people experiencing severe and complex mental health difficulties through a range of individual, family based and group therapy programs.
Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until 7 February 2025 (with possibility of ongoing employment)

Remuneration: $59.28 - $60.72 per hour

What you'll be doing
The Northern Beaches Child & Youth Mental Health Service ( NB CYMHS) community service provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment and clinical interventions for infants, children and adolescents affected by moderate to severe / complex mental health problems or experiencing significant emotional and behavioral distress through a range of individual, family-based and group therapeutic interventions.
The Senior Social Worker will provide expert clinical leadership and supervision of the Social Work services within the Northern Beaches Child and Youth Mental Health Service (NB CYMHS). The position will also carry a clinical load and will be responsible for providing evidence-informed mental health assessment and therapeutic intervention to children and young people, their families and carers. The Senior Social Worker will be required to exercise independent clinical judgement, initiative, and problem-solving skills to provide senior clinical support to the multi-disciplinary clinicians, including Social Workers, within the CYMHS team and to other relevant stakeholders.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with AASW. Allied Health Professional requires experience as a level 2 clinician.
- Relevant clinical mental health experience in a community setting which includes working with children and/or adolescents and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the teaching and learning capacity of the team including student and staff supervision and training, and quality improvement.
