This position will be required to perform the full range of duties of a Security Staff member in addition to providing additional duties such as demonstrated leadership to the Security Team, training and development of Security Staff within the team environment (where required), demonstrated initiative and sound judgement in relation to the direction, management and assessment of security risks and incidents within the Hospital site.
The position holder will be responsible for the review and/or preparation of documentation relevant to issues specific to the role of the Security Department. This may include documents related to security or patrol incidents, or rostering approvals and supervision of the Security Team.
The Senior Security Staff will form a positive leadership role for the Security Staff within the team, providing a pivotal central point of contact for both the Security Team and the Hospital Management. The clear team leadership required of the Senior Security Staff will assist through in the provision and delivery of safe day to day security and patrol operations by the regular review and communication of security processes and procedures within the unit, supporting open communications and accountability.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
