What you'll be doing
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Radiographer to join the dynamic team at the Breast Cancer Institute (BCI) / BreastScreen Sydney West in a temporary Level 4 role, with the potential for contract extension based on service needs and performance. In your role as Senior Radiographer, you will provide high-quality breast imaging services while ensuring patient safety and delivering expert care in line with national standards. Your key responsibilities will be to:
Lead and perform mammography and breast ultrasound to detect early changes in breast health
Maintain and ensure optimal functioning of imaging equipment through rigorous quality assurance procedures
Collaborate effectively with patients, carers, and the broader healthcare team to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
Engage in professional development through continued training and certification renewals (CCPM, ASAR)
Manage the imaging roster and participate in rotational schedules, including travel to external screening sites
This role offers the chance to work within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment dedicated to delivering high-quality breast imaging services across diagnostic , screening and assessment clinics. The successful applicant will play a key role in managing the diagnostic clinic workflow, mentoring and supporting radiographers, ensuring clinical excellence, and contributing to ongoing service development initiatives.

Essential Criteria:
License: NSW Environment Protection Agency EPA Radiation Licence IA14
Qualification: Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
Registration: Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in Breast Imaging (Mammography and Breast Ultrasound) and in providing high quality Breast Imaging services that are patient/client focused according to the objectives and policies of the BCI
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
High level customer service skills, and effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with patients/clients.
Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative to ensure efficient daily department workflow.
Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem solving, formulating new approaches and implementing comprehensive change programs and improvement strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes
High working knowledge of mammography equipment and knowledge of BreastScreen Australia Program and the National Accreditation Standards
Excellent and detailed working knowledge of RIS PACS in both Diagnostic and Screening Breast Imaging Programs and managing of any PACS data related issues.
