About the role

Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $132,236 - $150,222 plus Super, with a 38-hour work week. 

  

What you’ll be doing 

  • Development, review, maintenance, and evaluation of policies/procedures/protocols/guidelines, including liaising with the Australian Government and interstate health authorities, Ministry of Health and related government agencies to address current and emerging issues in relation to the immunisation program and health technology requirements 

  • Vaccine inventory management and immunisation program monitoring and evaluation 

  • Assist with monitoring and project management of program performance against the Essential Vaccines Schedule and local health district immunisation key performance indicators and improvement measures 

  • Provision of advice on the management of the program including cold chain breaches, vaccine administration errors, re-vaccination advice and collation of information on adverse events following immunisation 

  • Provide advice to and project support to other program areas on immunisation matters such as emergent communicable diseases and environmental hazards consequent to climate change 

  • Prepare high quality written advice in the form of reports, briefs, policy, discussion papers, standard responses or circulars to inform or respond to requests. Assist with other aspects of the immunisation program as requested by the Associate Director.

 

About you

 We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:  

  • Extensive experience in immunisation programs and/or extensive experience in a health or public policy field 

  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in immunisation 

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills including a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders 

  • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately to achieve business focused solutions 

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels within a high-volume dynamic work environment 

  • Demonstrated ability to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote a culture and supporting practices that reflect the organisational values through demonstrated  behaviours and interactions with stakeholders and colleagues

  • An understanding of health program design, delivery and evaluation.
