An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join the chemotherapy pharmacy service at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. We are looking for an experienced hospital pharmacist who can work autonomously whilst integrating into both existing chemotherapy team and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Where you'll be working

 
You will be working within the new purpose-built chemotherapy unit at the recently redeveloped Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. The hospital has undergone extensive development, utilising new technology such as a dispensing robot and automatic dispensing cabinets.

What you'll be doing

The Grade 3 pharmacist manages the day to day operations of different areas of the pharmacy service; reporting and liaising with either the Director or Deputy Director of Pharmacy. The position has responsibility for the staff and resources assigned to their area of service. The Grade 3 pharmacist will ensure that high quality, safe, person - centered and cost efficient service is provided.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no conditions or restrictions on practice and evidence of extensive and relevant hospital experience.
  2. Provide evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information system
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement
  4. Demonstrated advanced level knowledge of therapeutics in the areas of chemotherapy, relevant legislation and ability to apply these skills in practice.
