The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the St George Hospital (SGH) Nutrition and Dietetics Department in the role of Senior Paediatric Dietitian. The position is responsible for providing high quality dietetic services to infants, children and families referred to SGH Nutrition & Dietetics covering a range of inpatient and outpatient services including paediatric eating disorders, special care nursery and acute review baby clinic. Our department services also include paediatric multidisciplinary feeding clinic.
The Level 4 Senior Paediatric Dietitian provides clinical dietetic services requiring a high level of expertise and knowledge within their clinical specialty. They will act as the resource person for the speciality area and be actively involved in quality improvement, service review, and service development activities. All senior staff are involved in clinical supervision of junior staff and students. Further, as a department senior, you will work with the Head of Department, together with the other Level 4 Clinical Seniors, to provide high level guidance, leadership and management of aspects of the Department.

St George Hospital is the largest hospital within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and is an accredited, principal teaching hospital - a great place to develop your career. It is located a 10-minute walk from Kogarah station, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The hospital is currently undergoing redevelopment and in March 2026 will open a brand new Kensington Street Building (KSB), bringing together a range of day only, ambulatory and outpatient services that are currently being delivered from a number of locations around the hospital campus. This will improve accessibility for patients and their carers. The KSB will also include three levels of inpatient beds, Allied Health outpatient clinics and an Allied Health staff hub. The St George Hospital Redevelopment will provide staff, patients and carers with a first-class facility, designed to meet the health needs of our community, now and into the future.
Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Nutrition and Dietetics in order to provide high quality Dietetic care to patients consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
- Proven ability to provide high level clinical advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
