Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Oncology Pharmacist who will develop and deliver high standard clinical pharmacy, dispensary and compounding services to MLHD patients.
About the role
The role is also responsible for leading the safe, effective and efficient transition to State Contract (Contract 861) for the supply of pharmaceuticals to MLHD managed oncology services. In addition to undertaking project and change management activities across MLHD, including setting/achieving clear timelines; reviewing and updating medicines related policies, electronic Medication Management (eMM) systems and approval processes; inventory management; stakeholder engagement and communication with clinicians and other relevant staff at all levels in each oncology clinic within MLHD.
As the Senior Oncology Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
- Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for all inpatient, outpatient and radiation oncology patients, including medication management plans, review of regular medications in conjunction with oncology regimens, and patient counselling on treatment protocols and discharge medications.
- Dispense, compound and manage oncology medications, ensuring appropriate delivery, storage and cold chain management of cytotoxic medications while minimising waste and expiry of high-cost medicines.
- Manage all oncology and haematology access programs including compassionate supply and clinical trials, while supporting accurate financial reporting of oncology product ordering, receipt and usage to enable effective cost management.
- Contribute to broader pharmacy operations including clinical pharmacy, management and leadership responsibilities as delegated by the District Chief Pharmacist, within the scope of qualifications and experience.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- An in-depth understanding and ability to provide Pharmacy services in a curious and empathetic way
- Tertiary Qualifications in Pharmacy and registered with AHPRA with no restrictions on scope of practice and extensive experience in a hospital and capabilities commensurate for a pharmacist Grade 3 classification.
- High level of professionalism with ability to work independently and as part of a large team
- Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise services where necessary
