About the role:
SWBIRS is a specialist rehabilitation service supporting people with acquired brain injuries across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. Our services include allied health assessments, therapy, education, and rehabilitation coordination. We offer both community outreach and centre-based programs.
As an Occupational Therapist with Murrumbidgee Local Health District, you will deliver assessment, intervention and rehabilitation coordination for people with acquired brain injury across our District. In this role you will focus on delivering expert assessment and intervention to empower clients with cognitive, physical and sensory impairment to regain skills for daily living, work and learning.
You’ll work across a variety of settings, including:
Onsite clinics
Outreach visits to rural communities
Telehealth appointments
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will take on rehabilitation coordination for a designated caseload of clients. This involves working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and monitor individualized rehabilitation plans—ensuring seamless, client-centred care across all stages of recovery.
Employment Type: Temporary Part Time (until 22 May 2026)
Position Classification: Occupational Therapist – Level 3
Remuneration: $116,892.00 - $120,680.00 per annum, pro rata (+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Tertiary qualification Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
Three years' clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge
Effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in sites across the Local Health District as required or directed with a valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
