Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme
This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Retention incentive under the NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme, paid on a fortnightly basis.

The Attraction incentive for this position equates to:

An Allowance of up to $5,000 in total for the first 12 months of your employment as successful candidate to this position.

A Retention incentive of up to $5,000 in total may be offered thereafter annually (dependent on position continuing to meet scheme and policy criteria).

Employees are responsible to understand the criteria of accepting and retaining the incentives paid and are recommended to seek financial advice prior to accepting an Attraction or Retention payment as part of their employment.

About The Opportunity 
In this role, you will be part of our inpatient acute team, conducting assessments and delivering interventions for patients, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Common clinical areas include aged care, neurology, and orthopaedics. You will also provide supervision and leadership to Level 1 and Level 2 Occupational Therapists.

As the senior inpatient Occupational Therapist, you will have access to supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities. There are also succession planning prospects, including the chance to step into the role of Head of Occupational Therapy during periods of leave.

The Occupational Therapy team at Bowral Hospital is a supportive and collaborative team that values the diverse experiences and skills each team member brings. As a Level 3 inpatient Occupational Therapist, you will join a skilled and dedicated team, collaborating with inpatient Level 1–2 therapists and Occupational Therapists across community aged care, palliative care, and paediatric services.

  • With experience in the inpatient setting
  • Who is a quick learner and a team player
  • With experience working as part of an MDT

 Requirements:

  • Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
  • Current drivers licence

The senior occupational therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within occupational therapy services including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centered care.

  1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)  
  2. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within adult inpatient setting including aged care, neurology, orthopaedic.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
  4. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills
  5. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students
  6. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
