Where you'll be working
Based at the historic Cumberland Hospital in North Parramatta, part of Western Sydney Local Health District, you’ll work within NSW’s largest and Australia’s oldest mental health facility. Our services span primary to tertiary care and are grounded in innovation, respect and collaboration, with strong links to the new Integrated Mental Health Complex at Westmead.

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality, recovery-focused occupational therapy services while offering leadership, supervision and clinical expertise across acute and rehabilitation settings.
Deliver comprehensive OT assessments and interventions for individuals and groups
Manage a complex caseload using independent professional judgement
Provide leadership, supervision and education to staff and students
Contribute to quality improvement, service development and evidence-based practice
Collaborate with consumers, carers, families and multidisciplinary partners to support recovery

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Degree or Diploma recognised by Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Registration: Current General registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
Current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board, AHPRA.
Evidence of advanced clinical skills and significant experience working as an occupational therapist conducting mental health functional assessments and developing therapeutic care plans to address these needs.
Evidence of advanced clinical skills and significant experience working as an occupational therapist in partnership with mental health consumers, to develop, implement and evaluate group and individual mental health recovery based programs that facilitate functional skills development, clinical improvement, quality of life and self-management of disability.
Evidence of experience to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes. and/or research focused on patient/consumer outcomes.
Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills in a multidisciplinary team and within the Occupational Therapy department. Computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and databases.
Demonstrated experience in implementing education programs, and providing clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff and students.
Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical and administrative demands.
Current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to use for work purposes.
