An exciting part-time opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior metal health clinician to join and work in a multidisciplinary team as a member of the new SESLHD Safeguards North Team transforming young lives.

Are you ready to make a real difference to the lives of children and adolescents facing acute mental health challenges? Join our dynamic and innovative Safeguards Team, a dedicated CAMHS resource delivering cutting-edge care to young people aged 0-17 years. Based at Randwick, you'll work across the local catchment area, collaborating with existing CAMHS and youth mental health teams.

From assertive outreach and brief care co-ordination to time-limited therapeutic interventions, you'll have the opportunity to support young people and their families experiencing a mental health crisis.

Travel to other SESLHD sites may be required.

Selection Criteria

  1. For Occupational Therapy and Social Work; Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and current registration with AHPRA or eligible for membership with AASW. Clinical psychologists require full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress towards same), along with a minimum two-year full-time APAC-accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the provision and evaluation of evidence-based psychosocial assessment, therapeutic intervention, and evaluation of clinical outcomes with children, adolescents, young people and their families in a systemic way.
  3. Capacity to design and implement short and medium term, individual and group treatment protocols for commonly presenting problems (such as anxiety) for children and adolescents experiencing social and emotional distress.
  4. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
  5. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
  6. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence.
  7. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
  8. Current drivers licence
