WSLHD Activity Based Costing Team are looking for a clinical activity data professional to fill the role of Senior Costing Analyst.  The WSLHD Costing Team is an innovative team working to improve both the quality of patient costing to meet the future needs of an LHD with multiple complex tertiary level facilities, and to work with clinical and finance teams to exploit both the data inputs and outputs of the costing process to build the financial sustainability of clinical departments.

The WSLHD Costing Team has an innovative structure which comprises sub-teams involved in both DNR Production (producing cost results for the DNR) and Business Sustainability (analysing and reporting cost data and engaging with the business).  This is a senior role in the DNR Production team but is also an ideal career path into the Business Sustainability area.

The successful applicant will have a good understanding of medical terminology, the processes of patient care and the data generated through that care, have strong skills in manipulating such data using SQL, good skills in MS Office (especially Excel), experience preparing reports using Power BI or similar, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a range of stakeholders.  Experience in patient level costing in health is also highly desirable.

This role is ideal for either an experienced clinical analyst who wants to develop an intimate understanding of the process of patient costing and use it to make a difference, or for a seasoned costing professional who wishes to move to a leadership role with the potential to expand their career in analytics and business engagement.  In either case, you will need to enjoy working in a closely aligned team.
