Who we are:

The Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) is a government funded health organisation that covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north. MNCLHD provides a diverse range of services to a population of approximately 215,000 people. What you’ll be doing:

Using innovative, evidence-based skills and interventions, you will professionally support individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug use. You will take a trauma-informed approach and provide respectful, person-centred care, tailored to individual’s needs. Central to your role will be employing an individualised, holistic approach to care, incorporating comprehensive care planning to address the diverse physical, emotional, and social aspects of each person’s journey.

Will provide clinical leadership of a new team within the Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Service. The Stimulant Treatment Program (STP) is a small multidisciplinary team that will provide dedicated services for people who use amphetamine type substances (ATS).  The team will cover the Hastings Macleay region with focus on Kempsey. The team will deliver a range of programs that includes, counselling, group support, peer worker support and health checks for people wanting to know more about the effect of their stimulant use. 

The senior clinician of the STP team is responsible for ensuring the delivering of high-quality therapeutic interventions to clients who access the Service and provide clinical leadership and supervision for the team. 

The position will identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice; develop or lead ongoing quality improvement activities and contribute to the review and development of the service’s policy and procedures. The position is required to ensure that appropriate treatment is conducted in consultation with clients of the service including the development of care plans, gathering of outcome measures and participating in clinical review processes.
