About the role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence to contribute to population health and broader public health objectives. The Senior Analyst will lead and undertake a range of monitoring and evaluation projects to inform health system improvements. 

The projects focus on services for people with multiple risk factors for poorer health outcomes, particularly in maternity settings, and include: 

  • Development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and implementation plans.

  • Identification of monitoring and evaluation indicators and data sources.

  • Collection and analysis of qualitative data.

  • Reporting and communication of findings from quantitative and qualitative analyses.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you'll be doing  

  • Leading and contributing to the design and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation activities across priority initiatives.

  • Leading and collaborating on the collection and analysis of interview and focus group data from service providers and users.

  • Supporting the use of health clinical and administrative data to inform population health policy and program decision making, and to monitor and evaluate policies and programs.

  • Managing ethics and governance processes for priority evaluation projects.

  • Developing and managing relationships and partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including policy partners and researchers.

  • Contributing to the delivery of capability building initiatives to improve research, monitoring and evaluation knowledge and practice across the health system.


About you  
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:  

  • Postgraduate qualifications in health.

  • Substantial skills and experience in population health and/or health services research and evaluation in a practical setting, including use of qualitative methods.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the planning or implementation of health programs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work in an agile team environment
