About the Opportunity
NSW Health Pathology is excited to offer an opportunity for candidates with scientific or laboratory backgrounds to join one of our Clinical IT Operations teams. In this role, successful applicants will provide routine support for Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) applications while also contributing to projects that deliver new and enhanced services for our customers and patients. The position involves responding promptly to LIS issues, supporting effective problem resolution, and maintaining and improving IT links with our laboratory and clinical partners to enable high-quality, efficient service delivery.


 

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure that Laboratory Information System (LIS) and LIS-related applications functionality is implemented, maintained and developed, to meet business needs and enable more appropriate and effective use of diagnostic services. This includes configuration, problem management, change management and project support.

  • Provide a timely response to the resolution of Laboratory Information Management Systems problems

  • Maintain and improve IT links with customers, enabling improved service delivery

  1. Relevant qualifications or recent workplace experience in either biological sciences or IT e.g. Biomedical Science/Pathology or Relevant IT Tertiary / post graduate qualifications
  2. Experience as a member of a pathology end-user department and a solid understanding of diagnostic laboratory processes and workflows
  3. Experience in providing support in a clinical setting – this may be in the areas of application, technical scientific or training support role
  4. Demonstrated understanding of project management and project life cycle, experience working on projects
  5. Demonstrable analytical and problem solving ability
  6. Demonstrated ability to work both in a team and individually
  7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a demonstrable commitment to provide high quality customer focused services
  8. Demonstrable recent experience using an issues tracking and project-management software application such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence environment
