About the Role

As a Health and Security Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean and efficient healthcare environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with patient lifting, transfers and personal care support

  • Performing cleaning duties, including terminal cleans, in line with infection control standards

  • Managing linen removal and maintaining equipment and supplies

  • Undertaking portering duties including patient transfers and collections

  • Supporting theatre cleaning and prioritising workload

  • Assisting with respectful transfer of deceased persons

  • Adhering to WHS requirements and PPE guidelines

This role supports patient flow, safety and high-quality service delivery across the hospital.

About You

You will demonstrate:

  • Commitment to confidentiality and patient dignity

  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and infection control practices

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to work shift work

Previous experience in wardsperson, cleaning or patient care roles is desirable but not essential — training will be provided.
