What you'll be doing

  • Implement and lead the Patient and Family Engagement components of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) Clinical Governance Framework, as informed by the SCHN Strategic Plan, the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and any other relevant NSW Health materials with the support of the Patient and Family Engagement - Network Manager.
  • Support and develop the Network’s capacity to engage patients, families and community members in the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of services in a way which is consistent with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2). This will be achieved through the creation of effective and accessible processes, training and support and information.
  • Support and develop the Network’s capacity in achieving and maintaining accreditation against the NSQHS Standards (2nd ed.) with a focus on the specific requirements in the Partnering with Consumers Standard.

    1. This role requires oversight of multiple projects, committees, and initiatives. These activities vary in scale, time and frequency. What tools or processes would you use to manage the responsibilities of the Patient and Family Engagement Lead. 

     

    2. This role is responsible for setting the strategic direction for partnering with patients and families across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, with a particular focus on children and young people aged 6 and above. Please describe your experience and approach to embedding meaningful, age‑appropriate patient and family engagement at a service or system level.
