NSW Health Pathology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Roster Coordination Officer to join our team based at John Hunter Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join out People and Culture team, and play a key role in delivering accurate, efficient rostering and payroll support across a large, complex healthcare environment.
About the opportunity
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day rostering and payroll administration, supporting statewide operations through systems such as HealthRoster and StaffLink, and providing high-quality customer service to a diverse workforce
Working within a fast-paced environment, you will ensure data accuracy, meet strict deadlines, and contribute to effective workforce management.
What you'll be doing
Responsible for participating in a diverse range of rostering functions for the delivery of rostering and payroll across NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP)
Provide a high level of customer support in maintaining accurate rostering practices across a statewide organisation.
Ability to establish strong working relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation and external agencies and stakeholders.

Experience in rostering and payroll systems, with strong administrative capability
The ability to prioritise and manage high-volume workloads under pressure
High attention to detail with strong data analysis and auditing skills
Sound judgement, problem-solving ability, and adaptability

- Proficient in computerised rostering, HR/payroll systems, and Microsoft Office, with strong communication skills and a responsive approach to user support and payroll enquiries
- Strong ability to manage and prioritise high‑volume administrative tasks in fast‑paced environments, consistently meeting deadlines while considering broader team impact.
- Demonstrated experience in applying rostering and payroll policies, legislation, and procedures, with high‑accuracy data extraction, auditing, and system management.
- Effective problem-solver with sound judgement, adaptable to change, and highly skilled in communication, teamwork, and building strong client relationships.
