NSW Health Pathology is seeking two dedicated Revenue Audit Officers to join our Revenue Team on a permanent, fulltime basis.

What you'll be doing

The Revenue Audit Officer primary purpose is to audit and oversee pathology billing practices to maximise revenue while ensuring compliance with State and Commonwealth Medicare billing policy and legislation. The role also leads and manages revenue improvement projects, monitors billing system processes, provides regular performance reporting, and collaborates with stakeholders to address discrepancies and enhance accuracy within the billing and laboratory systems.

  1. Demonstrated ability to investigate, analyse, and report issues to stakeholders, while also providing resolutions as required.
  2. Effective written and communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pathology billing, including legislation, policies, and practices relating to Medicare and health funds.
  4. Demonstrated ability to advise on and assist with the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to billing practices and compliance.
  5. Demonstrated ability to monitor and track audit schedules, requirements, and the implementation of agreed audit report recommendations.
  6. Proven ability to maintain high-quality, accurate work while meeting competing targets and deadlines.
  7. Demonstrated ability to manage a project team, including to motivate, influence and co-ordinate staff to achieve desired outcomes.
