About the Role
Concord Repatriation General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.
To assist research on the projects exploring the Glucocorticoid rhythmicity and its critical role in bone loss and osteoarthritis during chronic disruption of circadian rhythm using animal models, working under the supervision of the Professor Markus Seibel, Professor Hong Zhou and postdoctoral research Scientists.
The role of research assistant is to monitor experimental animals, prepare biological samples for quantification and analysis, using molecular and cellular biology techniques to investigate the molecular and cellular basis of bone and cartilage biology.
Tasks include: mouse handling and interventional procedures, micro- CT and bone histomorphometric analysis, molecular biology techniques for protein quantification. The investigation, evaluation and validation of new techniques.

Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, or equivalent qualifications, with focus on biomedical science with molecular biology techniques.
- Experience and skills in small animal handling, minor surgical procedures and animal tissue dissection highly regarded
- Experience working in bone metabolism with the experience and techniques including micro-CT and histomorphometry analysis highly regarded.
- Experience in molecular biology techniques, particularly DNA/RNA analysis and cloning.
