About the Role

As a Registered Nurse/Midwife within SUPPS, you’ll provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, evidence-based interventions, education and case management to clients and families.
You’ll support clients with harm minimisation, relapse prevention and treatment planning, while contributing to the care of neonates at risk of prenatal substance exposure.

The role also involves working closely with families and other services around child protection, Domestic and Family Violence and complex psychosocial needs.
You’ll be supported by the Child, Youth and Family Support Manager, DACS Clinical Liaison Officer and the wider SUPPS and DACS team.


What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated and adaptable Registered Nurse/Midwife who is passionate about making a difference.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of AOD treatment in inpatient and/or community settings
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications in Drug and Alcohol, Child and Family Health Nursing or another appropriate qualification
  • Experience in assessment, care planning, harm minimisation, counselling, relapse prevention and case management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and complex situations
  • A commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed and person-centred care
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development

Essential Requirements

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
