About the role

An exciting opportunity for various working hours and contracts, has become available in the outstanding Level 4 Maternity service in Orange Health Service, birthing 1100 babies a year. Orange Women’s and Infants Unit offers a broad range of maternity services including, antenatal care, GP shared care, private Obstetrics, Midwifery Group Practice, Community Midwifery Program. Childbirth education classes are offered as well as having a high-risk obstetric clinic and visiting foetal maternal specialist for complex pregnancies. The service is a referral site from our maternity services in Parkes, Forbes, Cowra and Condobolin.

You will be part of a high functioning, low turnover, young, vibrant and collegial team who are very supportive of each other. With a focus on service quality, and well recognised by senior management, this unit receives consistently good results from accreditation.

Your role will be well supported by a Clinical Midwife Specialist Team Leader, and with close support from our district’s Clinical Midwife Educator and Clinical Midwife Consultants.

We are looking for caring and skilled midwives who thrive on variety and delivering a quality service.  In line with our core values, you will be open, transparent, and able to ask for assistance when you need it.

Rural Health Workforce Incentives Scheme

You may qualify for a $20,000 sign-on bonus if you have moved (evidence required) from MM1-2 (metro) location, interstate or internationally to work in our district. If you do not meet this criteria, attraction incentives or allowances of up to $10,000 may apply.

Retention incentives of up to $5,000 after 12 months of service may apply.
