Nepean Hospital are seeking compassionate Registered Midwives to join our Birth Unit on a Permenant basis. This role provides the opportunity to support women and families through pregnancy, labour, birth, and the immediate postnatal period, delivering safe, evidence-based, and woman-centred care. 

This role will see you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and supportive birth unit environment whilst providing comprehensive Midwifery care throughout labour and birth. You will support women and families with informed decision-making and birth planning, monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes in condition and assist with normal and complex births in collaboration with obstetric and neonatal teams.

You will bring to the team the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and contribute to a positive, respectful, and culturally safe care environment.

What you will bring to the role: 

  1. Current registration with AHPRA Registered Midwife (division 1)
  2. Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in midwifery
  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide woman centred care
  5. Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  7. Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
  8. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
