Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are seeking a passionate and committed Medical Radiation Scientist to join our team and provide high quality medical imaging services to patients within a rural setting. This role is patient focused ensuring optimal health outcomes through the application of current medical imaging safety standards. 

As a Medical Radiation Scientist, you will be personally accountable for your work and professional conduct, adhering to the Guidelines for Professional Conduct for Radiographers and Radiation Therapists. You will demonstrate the ability to perform high quality diagnostic imaging using complex clinical procedures and carry out radiographic examinations across various imaging modalities in accordance with established protocols, prioritising patient safety, comfort, and accurate use of radiographic markers.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Possess the following Qualifications and Registrations: 1. A Degree in Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography 2. Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. 3. I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA.
  2. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  3. Previous experience in a hospital environment including areas such as General, Mobiles, Theatre, Trauma Radiography and some exposure to CT
  4. Demonstrated understanding of WH&S and infection control in a radiology context
  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  6. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage time effectively in a clinical environment
