The NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service (OTDS) is the state‑wide NSW Health agency responsible for increasing organ and tissue donation for transplantation across New South Wales. Each year, the lives of thousands of Australians are transformed through organ and tissue transplants; however, more donors are still needed, with around 1,650 Australians on organ transplant waiting lists at any given time.

Where you'll be working
The NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service is now recruiting to the position of Quality Officer for the Quality Team at the NSW Tissue Bank. This is a full-time position, based at the NSW Tissue Bank, Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital.
The role
The Quality Officer is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager to develop, maintain and monitor the critical quality management system for the NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service (OTDS) including the NSW Tissue Banks (NSWTB).
In particular, this position will ensure that the NSWTB comply with the extensive regulatory requirements of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) which is administered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), and the NSW OTDS achieves and maintains accreditation with the relevant ISO 9000 and Australian Council of Healthcare standards (ACHS), taking leadership to motivate staff and implement strategic change as required. This will involve the monitoring and actioning of appropriate quality system elements and instigation of appropriate actions across multiple sites including timely report writing to management and the TGA; high level problem solving and corrective action review; support strategic planning; and development and monitoring of performance measures and procedures

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.
Demonstrated high level analytical and problem solving skills including, the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
Demonstrated high level negotiation and facilitation skills and commitment to customer service.
Effective time management and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and managing quality systems, projects and programs including demonstrated experience with change control.
Current drivers licence with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
