About the Role
Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Improvement Manager to lead and coordinate best-practice quality and safety systems at Armidale Hospital.
This key leadership role is responsible for facilitating the implementation, monitoring and compliance of NSW Health and HNELHD Quality Frameworks, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, the role supports continuous improvement, accreditation readiness, and a strong culture of clinical governance and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the local resource person for all aspects of quality improvement across Armidale Hospital and Peel Rural Health Services
- Lead, coordinate and drive quality improvement initiatives aligned with NSW Health and HNELHD frameworks
- Deliver staff education and training in quality improvement methodologies
- Provide expert advice to clinical and corporate teams on best-practice quality improvement approaches
- Support external review and accreditation processes through coordination, advice and reporting
- Participate in District and local quality, safety and governance committees and networks
- Analyse and interpret quality and safety data to inform decision-making
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for site and sector leadership
About You
You are an experienced quality improvement professional who is passionate about strengthening clinical governance, supporting accreditation, and driving sustainable improvements in patient safety and care.
- Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline
- Demonstrated high-level experience in quality improvement within a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of clinical governance principles and the NSQHS Standards
- Proven ability to lead, influence and support multidisciplinary teams to achieve quality outcomes
- High-level communication, education and presentation skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret quality and safety data to inform decision-making
- Proficient in the use of computer software applications
- Eligible to drive in NSW
