About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of tissue production for the Rachel Forster Bone Bank (RFBB), including scientific assessment of tissue donors, equipment and methodology oversight, and associated operational logistics. The role ensures the quality, cost‑effectiveness, and operational integrity of RFBB’s production activities, while maintaining full compliance with TGA regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. It also provides leadership in human resources, financial oversight, and strategic resource management to support safe, efficient, and high‑quality tissue banking operations.
This is a job share opportunity of 24 hours per week, split across two positions of 8 and 16 hours per week. You will be working Monday to Friday, with eventual participation in the on-call roster. Experience in the manufacture of therapeutic goods and regulatory affairs will be highly regarded.

Ideal Candidate
- Holds a degree in science from an approved University or a college of advanced education, or such other qualifications deemed by the employer to be appropriate and relevant to pathology.
- Extensive high-level knowledge of tissue banking, with knowledge of the operation, validation and maintenance of critical equipment and materials used in tissue banks.
- Customer-focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, tissue donors, patients and clinical and laboratory staff, along with report writing skills, statistical evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures.
- Understanding and knowledge of accreditation frameworks, relevant standards and quality systems.
- Managerial skills with experience in laboratory operations, administration and budgeting.
