About the role

Join the team leading the NSW Health Future Health Horizon 2 priority project: Reduce the prevalence of diabetes. This team will lead strategic policy, engage stakeholders across health, government agencies, and the NGO sector for the future health project as well as leading implementation of prevention policy and working to embed health outcomes and prevention action into service delivery.

 

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $149,739 - $173,174 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week, work location- 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards

What you'll be doing  

The Principal Policy Officer will provide leadership in the Future Health Horizon 2 priority: Reduce the prevalence of diabetes in NSW’ program. This will include development, implementation and evaluation of the program, strategic stakeholder engagement and support for new programs and initiatives in the prevention portfolio. 

 

The position will lead a coordinated approach to the provision of policy-relevant stakeholder engagement, cross ministry co-ordination and support a program of work that will lead to improved health outcomes for people in NSW. The Principal Policy Officer will coordinate activities to deliver change on key health issues, raise awareness and increase uptake of programs focused on embedding prevention activities in clinical care.  

 

About you  
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:  

  • Proven experience in project management, policy development and stakeholder engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to take a system-view of information and undertake complex analysis to improve outcomes. 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. 

  • A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development. 

  • The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment.
