Perinatal Family Conferencing (PFC) is a cross-agency model that uses family conferencing with an independent facilitator to promote early engagement and interagency planning with pregnant women and families at risk of their newborns entering out of home care at birth.

Prevention and Response Violence Abuse Neglect (PARVAN), Royal North Shore Community Health Centre, St Leonards.

What you'll be doing

The PFC Coordinator is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the program including:

  • Coordinate, allocate and oversee all PFC program referrals
  • Develop and maintain a group of appropriately skilled facilitators
  •  Undertake the facilitation role to a number of PFC referrals
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to foster strong interagency partnerships and further develop the program
  • Ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the program
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and post graduate experience at a minimum of level 2 or above
  2. Demonstrated extensive experience, knowledge and high level skills in the provision of child protection work and relevant legislation; management of child protection cases; provision of child protection consultation to clinicians/ caseworkers and skills and experience in provision of staff education.
  3. Demonstrated leadership in effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
