Integrated Domestic and Family Violence Clinic Social worker
The position will provide short term therapeutic support and case management services to victims accessing the Integrated Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Clinic.

Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) aims to implement a 24/7 integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic response to victim survivors of domestic and family violence. As part of this agenda NSLHD Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Service has developed a planned/bookable integrated Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Clinic model of care.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of the role is to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a planned/booked, integrated, psychosocial, and medical/forensic daytime ‘clinic’ model to people who have experienced domestic and family violence within the last twelve months.
The role will advocate, refer, and link clients and their non offending families into appropriate services to reduce threat and improve health and wellbeing including Safety Action meetings, Concussion Clinic, and other internal and external services.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) plus extensive post graduate experience working within violence abuse and neglect services inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Social Worker. A current unrestricted Drivers Licence which is valid in NSW, willingness to travel for work.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision, exercise independent professional judgment and advanced reasoning and decision-making skills. Demonstrated advanced verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills with strong advocacy, negotiation, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated high level skills and extensive clinical experience working with victims of domestic and family violence and their children. High-level knowledge and advanced understanding of risk assessment, safety planning including where serious threat exists and understanding the interrelated dynamics and effects of domestic and family violence, sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect on victims and their children, including in priority populations including Aboriginal communities, CALD and LGBTIQA+ communities and/ or come from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of relevant domestic and family violence and child protection reforms, legislation, NSW Health policies and evidence-based models of care for responding to domestic and family violence.
