The District Planning Executive at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District plays a pivotal leadership role in guiding the strategic direction of health service delivery across the region. This position oversees and drives key initiatives in district-wide planning, service development, and organisational strategy to ensure current and future health needs of the community are met.

The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting a wide range of health service, business, and strategic planning initiatives across the full project management cycle. You will contribute to robust and effective planning processes, including facilitating change management and supporting the implementation of innovative, future focused strategies. 

This role engages and collaborates with Clinicians, Consumers, Community members, and Organisational Leaders to identify and assess gaps in service delivery and understand and apply population estimates, population projections, and epidemiological data to inform planning, and conduct rigorous evidence-based data analysis to support high-quality service development and planning outcomes.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience in Health Service Management, Project Management, Business Management or Health related discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience in Strategic and/or Business and/or Service Planning projects, preferably in a Health planning environment.
  3. Ability to effectively engage and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally, across varying disciplines and levels (including Senior Management, Clinicians, Primary Care, Non-Government organisations, Community groups and Community members), to achieve project goals.
  4. Demonstrated ability to apply creative and entrepreneurial solutions to enhance productivity and customer outcomes, supported by strong problem-solving, conceptual thinking, and analytical skills.
  5. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills with experience in preparing project documentation, plans, briefing materials and reports, combined with a proven ability to negotiate effectively and delegate tasks to achieve successful outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated understanding or the ability to gain an understanding of the complex NSW Health planning environment and the ability to effectively operate and deliver in such an environment.
  7. Experience in considering and analysing data from multiple sources required to inform project approach and effective solutioning and decision making throughout projects.
  8. Demonstrated experience in a healthcare or related setting
