Pharmacist - Oncology and Haematology
Bathurst, Orange

About the role
The Bathurst Hospital and WNSWLHD pharmacy service is seeking an experienced pharmacist with experience and knowledge in oncology pharmacy practice or a willingness to obtain the skills required to fill this full-time role.

This role:

  •  Provides an advanced clinical pharmacy service to patients undergoing cancer treatment at Bathurst hospital, predominantly in an outpatient setting, with support from senior WNSWLHD oncology pharmacist/.

  •  Involves direct patient care, medication management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients receiving anti-cancer medicines and providing education to pharmacy staff, medical staff, nursing staff, and students on oncology pharmacy practice.

  • Includes clinical pharmacy duties, drug information, dispensing, patient counselling and patient and staff education.

Cancer Services in Bathurst are based at Daffodil Cottage providing care to people with cancer including medical oncology, haematology and radiation oncology consultations. The oncology pharmacist will work with the multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients at Daffodil Cottage.

As part of the team of oncology pharmacists throughout the WNSWLHD this position provides opportunity to:

  •  Participate in multidisciplinary clinical teams across the cancer streams and the oncology service to help promote better patient outcomes

  • Work with a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team at the Bathurst Health Service, including pharmacy, allied health, nursing and medical staff.

  •  Advance your skills in leadership, project management and quality improvement

  •  Enjoy a monthly allocated day of leave as well as 4 weeks of annual leave each year.
