About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District’s (MLHD) physical assets—including buildings, plant, and equipment—across the diverse and growing Riverina region of New South Wales.
Based in the Riverina, this pivotal role supports Murrumbidgee local health districts broad network of health services across rural and regional communities, making a vital contribution to the sustainability and performance of healthcare infrastructure in one of the state’s most important agricultural and lifestyle regions. The Riverina offers the ideal blend of professional opportunity and regional living—combining natural beauty, vibrant towns, and a deep sense of community.
In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of MLHD’s Asset Management Framework, Strategic Asset Management Plans (SAMP), and Asset Management Plans (AMP). You will oversee the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient engineering and asset services, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders. Your leadership will guide a high-performing team and foster a culture of continuous improvement in asset performance across the District.

About You:
You are a strategic thinker and proven leader with a strong background in asset management and operational planning. You bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Asset Management or a related field.
- Extensive experience in senior health management roles, with a deep understanding of asset lifecycle planning and infrastructure governance.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and drive complex initiatives forward.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk, performance, and cost across a diverse asset portfolio.
A current Class C driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the District as required.
