The Role
The Operations Assistant is responsible for efficient assistance in the provision of safe care in the operating suite assisting to provide safe and efficient service for patient care through:
• Storage of goods at correct locations, stock rotation and general assistance with stores and equipment deliveries and related tasks’
• Ensuring a clean environment
• Assistance with transfer of patients to, from and within the perioperative environment
• Assisting with positioning of patients in the operating room
• Preoperative setup of specialised surgical equipment
• Postoperative cleaning of specialised surgical equipment
• Maintain responsibilities for personal and professional development by participating in training/education activities and performance reviews in order to continuously improve the level and quality of service.

Sydney Hospital is Australia's first hospital and dates from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.
The Hospital is in the heart of the Central Business District in Sydney within easy walking distance to public transport. For staff who drive to work subsidised parking is available on site.
Selection Criteria

- Efficient organisation skills
- Accurate and appropriate written and verbal communication and documentation in English
- Physically capable in relation to the movement of equipment and patients with limited supervision
- Ability to work in a high stress environment
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
