About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated and supportive oncology and haematology pharmacy team while enjoying the flexibility of a virtual role in Western NSW Local Health District. Full-time and part-time arrangements will be considered, making it an attractive option for pharmacists seeking work-life balance, regional flexibility, and the opportunity to contribute to equitable cancer care across a large and diverse health service. The role offers the chance to work with specialist clinicians across multiple sites, influence patient care outcomes, participate in service development, and be part of an innovative model of care that expands access to expert oncology pharmacy services for rural and regional communities.
To be successful, applicants will require experience in oncology and/or haematology pharmacy practice, along with strong clinical, communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently within a virtual environment, build effective relationships with multidisciplinary teams, and provide high-quality patient-centred care is essential. A typical workday may include reviewing cancer treatment protocols, providing specialist clinical advice, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, supporting safe medication management, and collaborating with oncologists, haematologists, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals across the District. The successful applicant will be supported through a comprehensive orientation program, ongoing mentorship from experienced oncology pharmacists, regular team meetings, professional development opportunities, and access to local and statewide oncology pharmacy networks to support their continued learning and career growth.
