About the Opportunity

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of nursing services within the General Ward at Corowa. This role incorporates both leadership and hands-on clinical responsibilities, with a balance of operational management and direct patient care. You will lead and support the nursing team while actively contributing to clinical care delivery, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred care. In partnership with the multidisciplinary team, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen service delivery, support staff capability, and achieve positive health outcomes for patients and the community.

 

As the Nurse Unit Manager you will:

  • Coordinate and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient centred care.
  • Oversee discharge planning, support services, and daily operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Implement hospital policies, communicate key information, and maintain environmental and equipment safety.
  • Lead, mentor, and roster nursing staff to support professional growth and optimal workforce management.
  • Drive the development and implementation of nursing practices that meet evolving patient and community needs.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Current authority to practice unrestricted as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
