What you'll be doing
Manages the operations of Westmead Hospital - Cancer Services and coordination of cancer clinical services across the site to meet quality indicators and relevant performance targets.  

The role provides workforce leadership and direction for the senior cancer nursing staff to facilitate learning and development to achieve people focused quality care.  

The role also has primary responsibility for ensuring ongoing provision of seamless clinical service delivery across Cancer Services and will need to work closely with the Westmead Hospital Executive nursing and midwifery leadership team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current enrolment with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency as a Registered Nurse  

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management and extensive experience in cancer nursing; or equivalent work experience in nursing management and extensive clinical experience in cancer nursing
  2. Evidence of a successful record in meeting budgets, the ability to develop financial efficiency strategies and meet service targets.
  3. Demonstrated advanced communication and negotiation skills together with senior management experience in change management, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation with the capacity to influence local communities, health professionals, health interest groups and staff.
  4. Proven leadership ability to motivate staff, lead and develop effective teams, drive a patient care environment focused on continuous quality improvement, formulating and evaluating new approaches across services
  5. Demonstrated ability to implement strategic plans across services
  6. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and the capacity to apply knowledge and skills to manage a changing health care environment using innovative improvement strategies
