The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

NBMLHD Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead and shape the delivery of high‑quality consumer care across both inpatient and community settings within the Adult Mental Health Stream. This pivotal role is central to supporting a seamless and person‑centred consumer journey across the lifespan, ensuring that every individual receives safe, effective and compassionate mental health care.

As the Nurse Manager, you will provide strong operational and professional leadership to multidisciplinary teams, guiding the planning, development and evaluation of services, clinical practice and professional standards. Your leadership will help drive service excellence, foster continuous improvement and ensure timely, efficient and evidence‑based care for consumers.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Holds or working towards relevant Management and/or Mental Health post-graduate tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate to the position
  3. Demonstrates leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational, service, and professional standards, including the ability to manage conflict and performance issues
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage, allocate and evaluate organisational and nursing resources, including finance and human resources.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage change and guide others through change process
  6. Demonstrated experience in managing key priorities and delivering successful strategies to deliver service outcomes and KPIs within tightly defined resources
  7. Evidence of commitment to consumer-focused care, clinical governance, and quality improvements
  8. Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work related travel.
