Lismore Base Hospital serves as a key regional referral hospital, providing a comprehensive range of health services, including a state-of-the-art Operating Theatre Suite, Intensive Care/Cardiac Care Unit, Women's and Paediatric Care Units, Emergency Department and more. Richmond network includes Lismore Base, Ballina District, Casino and District Memorial Hospitals as well as Bonalbo, Kyogle, Nimbin and Urbenville Multi-Purpose Service. We are seeking a qualified Specialist for the rolel of Director of Medical Services (DMS) to play a pivotal role in our clinical leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary applicant seeking to further their career ensuring safe, effective and efficient delivery of the range of Medical Services as negotiated with the NOrthern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD). The DMS will drive innovation and implement best practices in medical administration across our district. - Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Medical Administrator, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, or working towards such eligibility, or relevant qualifications and experience as a medical practitioner
- Demonstrated leadership experience and achievement as a Senior Manager in a Health Service, including strategic planning, medical workforce planning and management, and change management
- Demonstrated capability to effectively manage medical administration departments within similar health care organisation
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles and practices of clinical governance and clinical risk management and demonstrated capacity to implement and maintain continuous quality improvement management strategies
- Sound understanding of contemporary Health Service issues and the proven ability to prioritise and effectively manage resources to address these issues
- Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups
- Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
- Ability to participate in Executive on call roster
