Selection Criteria

  1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  2. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FRANZCOG) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the relevant award ( (NSW) Award.  Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position

  3. Sound clinical knowledge and experience across the generalist scope of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including intrapartum care and acute Gynaecology, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position, with a high level of experience and competency in independently managing labour ward and gynaecological emergencies.

  4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.

  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.

  6. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.

  7. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the Department.
      

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014

 

Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
