About The Role:

  • Hunter New England Imaging provides Medical Imaging Services (Radiology and Nuclear Medicine) as a part of Hunter New England Local Health District. The Greater Metropolitan Medical Imaging Administration Team provides high quality administrative support for our departments across Greater Newcastle and Lower Hunter hospitals.
    Successful candidates will join a friendly and diverse administration team, working across HNE Imaging sites in the Greater Newcastle and Lower Hunter regions.
  • Our Administration Officers play a vital part in coordinating imaging appointments and liaising with Patients, Radiographers, Doctors, wards and other hospitals to ensure the successful completion of examinations. Within this role you will provide high quality and efficient reception and administrative/clerical service within Hunter New England Imaging (Radiology and Nuclear Medicine departments).
  •  An average day will include greeting and assisting patients, performing data entry, answering telephone enquiries and scheduling appointments
  • Positions are supported by an existing administration team and an on-boarding orientation and training plan will be conducted.


About You:

  • Proven experience in providing exceptional administrative support and customer service within a Medical Imaging Department in a clinical setting.
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritise, and organise work tasks effectively to meet objectives as directed by the Practice Manager.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy when managing various computer systems and administrative processes.
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills, applied to deliver outstanding customer service in a clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team to consistently achieve quality service outcomes.
  • Proficient in using electronic systems and software such as Patient Administration System (i.PM), Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), and other healthcare databases to support job functions.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and service requirements, with a willingness to work across multiple sites within the Greater Newcastle Metropolitan Health Service’s Radiology and Nuclear Medicine departments.
  • Holds a current NSW Drivers Licence.
