We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join Sydney Children's Hospitals Network’s (SCHN) Communications and Engagement Directorate. In a collaborative and supportive environment, you will lead a small team working to promote SCHN as world leaders in paediatric healthcare. Using your expertise, you will work with a variety of stakeholders to oversee development of communication campaigns and audience-specific content for a variety of platforms including intranet, website, written publications and social media.
You will also facilitate media opportunities for SCHN, working in partnership with staff, patients and families, journalists, the Ministry of Health and the Minister’s Office. You will have a strong engagement, communication and media background with proven experience leading a team of multi-skilled communication specialists. Your proven experience managing people and competing priorities, supporting your team to work in a collaborative and agile way, will ensure deliverables are prioritised.
What you'll be doing
The Communications and Engagement Directorate is responsible for implementing the communication, media and engagement strategies, maximising positive communication opportunities, and promoting the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), its facilities and associated institutions.
The Media and Issues Manager oversees a number of high-risk SCHN functions, including proactive and reactive strategic communications to manage reputation and position SCHN as international leaders in children’s health.
The position works closely with the Board, Chief Executive and Executive Unit on critical media advice and responding to and resolving emerging issues.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience in high level media and issue management, working closely with relevant agencies to maintain the reputation of SCHN.
Has proven record of media management and development across a varying range of platforms.
Has demonstrated leadership and management skills, including managing a team, allocating and producing work within tight timeframes and within budgets.
