Looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sterilising Services Manager to join the Ryde Hospital team. We offer Salary Packaging and novated lease options. What you'll be doing
The Sterilising Manager is responsible for leading, developing and maintaining the sterilising core functions of the department whilst working closely with the Theatres NUM, Surgery and Anaesthesia Nurse Manager and the facility Clinical Managers.
The purpose of the position is to ensure Sterilising Services achieve compliance with all relevant standards, NSW Health Policy directives, Guidelines and other statutory requirements. The Sterilising Manager will develop a strong, efficient, effective and highly skilled collaborative team contributing to the total health care needs and expectations of clients, clinicians and staff and the community we serve.
The incumbent will provide training, technical advice and mentoring to all staff to ensure customer needs are met, as well as coordinate and supervise staff and day to day tasks. The incumbent will work in all areas of the Sterilising Services to maintain high standards in all processes involved with sterilisation and other procedures performed within the unit.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Certificate in Sterilisation Services and relevant qualifications in management or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience including significant experience in the management of sterilising services in an acute hospital setting.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills to develop and enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, motivate and achieve organisational goals.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels, with an ability to provide clear and concise reports.
- Comprehensive, up to date knowledge of sterilising technology processes, standard and statutory requirements including knowledge of AS 5369:2023 and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
- Competence in financial management to demonstrate service provision is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
